What you need for the base

• Clay and glaze
• one socket, cable, push-botton switch and a plug (they all come in a set as well)

What you need for the shade

• silk as you like it (cf. hint)
• one ring with bars and one without
• special foil for lampshades
  (It is a firm foil with an adhesive coating on one side. It is 60 cm or 120 cm wide and either white or transparent.) In most cases the narrow one will do.
• double-sided sticking plaster (Tesa), 15 mm wide

Note

A whole set for making lampshades is sometimes obtainable from a specialized dealer. The set contains two rings and the matching foil.
